Rev. Godfrey Owino Adera

Youth Representative

Rev. Godfrey Owino Adera is a priest in the Anglican Church of Kenya, and an adjunct lecturer of Theological and religious studies at St. Paul’s university (Limuru) and Bishop Okullu college (Siaya County). He also serves as a supporting minister in charge of Christian Education at the Cosmopolitan Affirming Community Church (CAC) which is a safe space for sexual and gender minorities in Kenya.  He holds Bachelor’s degree in Divinity (BD) and a Master’s degree (MTh. Systematic Theology and Theology of Cultures) from Yonsei University in South Korea. He is currently enrolled for PhD at St. Paul’s University- Kenya. His main area of interest is in ministry to children, youth, and queer people in Africa, and advocacy for Gender equity and inclusion for Gender and sexual minorities in Kenya. His teaching and research areas of interest include Systematic Theology, African Christian Theology, Gender and Theology, Queer Theologies and World Christianity.
