SHIRLEEN ADHIAMBO

Executive Director

Shirleen has a heart to promote equality and empowerment of persons with disability and champions for inclusion. Her greatest desire is to effectively initiate and progressively engage communities in transformative sustainable initiatives and has experience working with vulnerable and marginalized communities in Kenya. Over the years she has developed a passion for human rights advocacy, women empowerment and girls mentorship and creation of sustainable systems.

Prior to joining Siaya Muungano Network she worked with Windle International Kenya in Daadab Refugee Camp where she supported refugees with disability to transition through education and as a sign language interpreter with different organizations.

Shirleen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Needs Education (2nd Class Upper) from Pwani University and a Certificate in Implementation Science from the University of Washington.

As an SDG fellow, she believes that change begins with each one of us and through local initiatives we are able to change the world.
